This article is for you if you feel that your marriage is “on the rocks” and that your partner may be contemplating filing for divorce. If this describes your situation, then continue reading.
I will explain a few signs that you should look out for that signal your husband is thinking about getting a divorce, and I will also tell you how to stop him from doing so and how to start rebuilding your marriage. Therefore, let’s get right into the first clue we should look for.
The First Sign
When you argue about anything and everything. This is not a secret and a sign that everyone is aware of. Your marriage is failing if you have more and bigger fights with your partner.
Now, before you get too worked up over that, you and your partner are arguing many times a week. Every married couple will quarrel and have disagreements at some point or another. It’s beneficial for a marriage to have occasional disagreements as long as such disagreements lead to resolutions or don’t leave behind lingering harsh feelings.
When these disagreements become regular and tend to develop over virtually any topic, the situation becomes a little more precarious.
For instance, if you arrive five minutes late for a dinner date, and the two of you get into a heated argument about it, which ultimately leads to you retiring to bed upset for the third time in a week, then there is a problem.
Your marriage may be on the verge of failure if you always have these kinds of disputes, especially if you tend to exaggerate even the smallest of your complaints or differences with your partner. Usually, spouses who quarrel often but have otherwise solid relationships can fix this issue with relatively little effort.
If you and your spouse fight a lot over little problems, you must learn how to avoid pointless arguments and prevent them calmly and constructively.

Now, another sign of an unhealthy marriage, which could be considered a more serious issue, is when either one of you or both of you cease trying to address the dispute in any way. This brings me to the next point that I want to make.
The Second Sign
They are no longer willing to find solutions or resolve conflicts. If your partner no longer cares about the outcome of an argument or thinks solving your problems is futile, this may suggest deeper relationship issues.
When this kind of hopelessness sets in, your partner may become more distant and have the impression that there is no chance that the two of you will ever be able to coexist peacefully in this world. That is obviously not a good thing, and it is something that you need to work on if it has become an issue in your marriage. If this has become a problem in your marriage, you must work on it.
The Third Sign
An absence of an emotional connection as well as a withdrawal of affection. If your husband has become emotionally distant and has stopped displaying affection toward you, this is another strong sign that they are mentally checking out of the marriage.
If your husband has become emotionally distant and stopped showing affection towards you, this is also a strong sign. This is sometimes accompanied by a general lack of emotional connection and an unwillingness to talk or display sentiments and emotions.
From what I’ve seen, this is one of the clearest indicators that a marriage is heading on the wrong path. This is usually only a symptom. Working through the real issues in your marriage may help rebuild the emotional connection and lead to your partner showing affection again.
If you’re noticing this sign and others on my list, it’s time to start taking steps to save your marriage from further deterioration. Even if your husband isn’t interested in working on the relationship right now, you can still learn three tactics that will assist you in mending the rifts in your marriage by watching this video.
The Fourth Sign
Infrequent or absent sexual activity. The lack of sex in your marriage may be a symptom of other issues; for example, if you’re often arguing and have no emotional connection with one another, the sex will likely stop.
But it can also be an issue on its own and lead to a crisis in a marriage, regardless of whether it’s caused by a waning attraction or a low sex drive. This can happen for many reasons.
A sexless marriage is nearly always a marriage that is on the fast track to divorce, so if your partner looks uninterested in sex or makes excuses, that is a strong indication that there are difficulties in the relationship.
The Fifth Sign
Your partner is missing more often or appears to be preoccupied. Your partner may be unhappy with how things are going at home if they spend more time away from the house, staying out later than usual, and showing less interest in their family and spending time with the two of you.
There is also the possibility of mentally preparing themselves for a life separate from the other person, expanding their social life, or even dating. I hope this is not the case, but one should not jump to conclusions or blame their partner excessively just because they are home less.
Simply said, if you spend less time with your husband than you used to or if he seems distant and preoccupied when you’re together, it may be a clue that a partner is mentally struggling to leave a marriage. Spending less time with your husband is another sign that a spouse is mentally fighting with the decision to divorce.
What Should You Do Next?
Let’s get one thing straight: just because your partner is displaying a number of the behaviors I just discussed, it does not necessarily suggest they are planning to file for divorce shortly.
These things are only early warning signs of problems in your marriage. But if you’ve noticed several of these warning signs in your partner in the past few months, and you have a gut feeling that something is off track in your marriage, I strongly advise you to take action to fix things as soon as possible, before the situation becomes any worse.
